Shiny, sparkly, jingly, jangly… my charm bracelet…
…one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. I love it for all the same reasons I love creating with vintage things. I started mine when I had my first child who is now 21 years old! It continued thru the birth of my daughter (who is now in her first year of college) and has documented all the “big” and “not so big” occasions of my life. I remember scouring antique and thrift stores to find just the right charm, and discovering that vintage charms were so much more interesting and had so much more character than new ones. I would get these charms and wonder who they had belonged to and how anyone could give them away. After all, they were like mini histories of peoples lives. I felt good knowing that I was rescuing a forgotten treasure and giving it a new purpose…telling my story (all on my wrist). This is precisely why I like working vintage charms, buttons, and fabric into my jewelry. I know the person that purchases a piece appreciates the history and thoughtfulness that went into creating it. Please check out my newest pieces (regansattic.etsy.com) …all inspired by my charm bracelet.
